Yesterday was the Munchkin's last day of school as well as the first day I realized that it's going to be a very, very long summer.

I took her to her art show (fabulous by the way) and really wanted to do a little celebration lunch or stop off at the ice cream shoppe for her. I ended up meeting up with Random Mommy at the Mexican restaurant around the corner. Husband was home sick so I left the twins napping and headed that way. This restaurant that we frequent is literally 3 minutes from our house and I cannot even tell you how many Why? questions I had to hear in that short drive....

Why are we going to lunch?
Why are we meeting Buddha?
Why is that light working?
Why is it red?
Now it's green, why is it green?
Why is the restaurant open?
Why are there so many cars here?
Why is that car right there?
Why do people come here?
Why are there people over there?

and the list goes on and on and on and on....

I do really try hard to answer her questions with more than a "because" but chatty Cathy would reply to all of my answers with yet another "why?" She is a talkative child anyway, but yesterday she was in rare form. I was out of answers and mentally exhausted.... On the way to the grocery store she started up again....

Why are we going to the store?
Why do we need food?
Why do we eat?
Why do we need to get strong and have energy?

All I could do at that point was laugh and wonder WHY I didn't sign her up for the summer session at school?

I get the same questions over and over and over again...I think she likes the sound of my voice:)...or its to see how long it takes before I stop answering the same question over and over.
