A Mothers Love.

Is there no end to the great lengths that a Mother will go to for her children? Today mine was tested. The Munchkin pinched her fingers in the door leaving a store. She cried hysterically, I kissed, I soothed, and she looked up at me and said "Mommy, the only thing that will make my fingers feel better is your candy."

First of all, who taught her to be so cute and manipulative at the same time? Is it really a gift? She knows exactly when to turn this off and on and today was no exception.

Second, they were my Junior Mints!! The low fat treat I had just purchased in anticipation of a quiet bit of mommy time, while all good little children were napping.

Third, why can't I just say no? I tried to compromise but she is smarter than me. I told her that a little bit of candy would make her feel a little better, so I would share my treat... She said "But a lot of a candy will make me feel a lot better." What caring, loving Mother could argue with that? I ended up with about 8 Junior Mints, while driving home from the store, and just like that my tiny piece of afternoon serenity was gone... I admit defeat.

It sounds like Oma and Granddaddy have had alot of influence on her. Now that I think of it, maybe you should put your dad in that group too.
Much love,
Your Aunt
