The Results Are In.....

Identical Girls!!! We are of course very excited about the news of having 2 more beautiful, baby girls, but the news was not as great as we had hoped. They are in the same sac, and "baby a" has a problem with one of her kidneys. A problem that the Doctor predicts will make it non-functional, her other kidney, however, appears to be fully functional, so there is some good news.

We were caught a little off guard when this new Doctor asked us if we knew what problems we were facing with this pregnancy, including the cleft lip on "baby a," this was news to us, and turned out that she could not detect this on either baby, but will be checking again at the next appointment in January. So far things are going well, the babies are exactly the same size, and "baby b" seems to be developing normally.

As you can imagine, we have a very long road ahead of us, and due to the condition of this pregnancy, we have a lot less time to prepare. Our goal is to make it to 28 weeks, but 30 and beyond would be gravy.

Thanks to all of you who have been thinking about us, praying for us and sending us those good vibes, we are definitely going to need them.

I don't know if it is kosher to post because it shows that I read your blog every once in a while (every hubby does, they just won't admit it), but I just wanted to let you know that the little one and myself says prayers for all of you every night.

Do not worry about what you can not control. Say a prayer and give those worries to God. Plus, modern science can fix just about any medical issue these days. Your family was chosen for a reason. Be excited! You are having TWINS!!! How awesome is that?!

We are praying for you and your family. Congrats on two little girls. My brother was born with only one kidney and they told my mom they werent sure he would live. He is now 24 and 6'5"/350lbs. He has to watch what he eats so he doesnt get kidney stones, but otherwise is just fine!

Identical twins! How fun!!!! First, remember that doctors don't always get it right. So even if there seem to be issues with Baby A's kidney right now, that could still resolve itself and she could be fine once she's born.

And if it's not, all she needs is one kidney, so she'll be good.

As far as the cleft palate, Joachim Phoenix was born with one. And look at him now, he's a sexy beast.

Take really good care of yourself, as much as a mom of a toddler can. We'll be sending you lots of positive thoughts and wishing you to make it as long in the pregnancy as possible! If you are looking for some good preemie baby blogs, email me, I've got two Internet friends who have great blogs about preemie babies, one of which just gave birth to her twin preemies. catwoman.in.texas at gmail.com
