Internet Woes

How does it know? How does it always manage to crap out on me when I need it most?

I am in the process of trying to plan a birthday party. Translation: Frantically scouring the Internet for last minute ideas, items and gifts for this festive occasion. Of course, I set aside naptime yesterday to finish my Monday blog, and get to ordering some things, only one problem, no Internet. Damn you Charter, have I told you lately that I hate you?

I started planning this party in August because I knew I would be gone a lot in September, how is it possible that I have done nothing but invitations? And that's half ass, because I still have some to send out and since we are doing a joint party with Yankee Belle, she took up my slack on the ones that have been mailed.

I thought it would be cute to do the custom M & M's as part of our goodie bags, 50 freaking dollars for the minimum order!!!! Um, no. So now, I have no ideas and I'm running out of time! Help me!

Try birthdayinabox.com They personalize almost everything they sell, and that includes favors. They are quick & I actually had a misprint on my order...called them & they FedEx priority mailed them to me to arrive the next day. Great customer service is so hard to find these days. Good luck.

Got any friends with internet?

Ok, got a theme? For example, Tooty's (as you know) was circus so we had animal crackers and cotton candy for favors. Last year bug party so Eric Carle books.... I used Birthday in a box last year and they are fantastic - and fast if I remember correctly!

If you want something personalized you can get the hershey nuggets and address labels and print your own. I have done this for all our occasions as it is much cheaper than buying the ones online. What is your theme?

Since the party is at the McWane Center, I've had a hard time coming up with themed goodies... They supply everything so I'm not having to worry about matching anything....

I've tagged you for a meme if you want to play along...

It'll take your mind off of the party for a few minutes at least...

Since you are doing it at the McWane center, you can do goodies such as little magnifying glasses, silly putty, fruit snacks (I am sure they have a science-themed brand), bugs, etc. I do like the idea of the hershey nuggets wrapped in address labels. If you don't feel like dealing with it, screw it all and go with what the McWane cneter offers...saves you the trouble and hassle. Sometimes you just have to pay for convenience...
